This is certainly the best version of Dead Island for newcomers to jump into, and it certainly doesn't hurt that the base game enjoys many of the interface improvements that came with Riptide. In the Definitive Edition of Dead Island: Riptide is it possible to press a button (default Q on keyboard) to melee with the weapon. This is useful to give yourself a few seconds to reload or adjust your aim if a zombie is close. This does not exist in the Definitive Edition of Dead Island, only Riptide. This is my review for this game: (9/10) 1) Graphics are good enough for this type of game, it's not like Dying Light or Left4Dead where the zombies are more realistic so the graphics in those games are realistic too. (3/5) 2) Combat/Weapon System: Ok the weapon system, is one of the best I encountered in a zombie game. OVERVIEW Dead Island: Riptide is the worst video game I have played in a long time.
